Why Doudou?
A "Doudou" is a French term for a baby’s comfort object — typically a soft, cuddly cloth or stuffed toy that a child uses for self-soothing and security.
It’s often:
- Perfectly sized for little hands — soft, lightweight, and easy for babies to grasp and cuddle.
- Brings comfort anytime — during naps, bedtime, or moments when extra reassurance is needed.
- Designed without stuffing — making it ultra-flexible, easy to hold, and naturally soothing against the skin.
In many French-speaking families, a doudou plays the same role as what English speakers might call a “security blanket,” “lovey,” or “blankie.”
💡 Fun fact: In France, daycares often ask parents to bring their child’s doudou so the child feels safe and at ease in a new environment.
